summer school 2012

location

The World University Preparation Course is held at Corpus Christi, College Cambridge. Corpus Christi is right in the heart of Cambridge, close to the River Cam.  It is one of the ancient colleges of the University of Cambridge. The College recently celebrated 650 years of commitment to teaching and research. Cambridge is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities and is an hour’s journey by train from London.

WUP students will attend lectures, seminars and tutorials at Corpus Christi College. They have access to the college library, the student common room and the college snack bar. Students are also given access to the College Computer Room which has internet access.

Accommodation is provided in single rooms at Newnham House which, in term time, is the post graduate accommodation for Corpus Christi. Newnham House is about five minutes’ walk from Corpus and is situated across the road from an idyllic spot by the River Cam.

Students have all their meals in the College Hall. There is a self service buffet; the quality of the food is good. The WUP students attend an impressive formal dinner in Hall in their final week of the course.

‘Corpus Christi is the best venue for a summer school, at least from my past experiences. It is very beautiful and there is an incentive to work harder as I was living and working on campus.’
Gauri Gupta, World University Preparation student

‘The college is great in terms of facilities and remarkably its food is good too. The staff have been very friendly and helpful.’
Ruoyang Zhang, World University Preparation student
