Classrooms
The World University Preparation classes all take place at Corpus Christi College. Most of the classrooms are located in the new Library building in Library Court. Students have access to the College Library facilities: they are able to borrow books, use photocopiers and use the Library for private study after classes.
Lectures are held in the McCrum Theatre.
Internet Access:
The Computer Room, to which students have access, is in New Court.
Meals
There is a self service cafeteria adjoining the Corpus Christi dining hall serving a wide variety of food. There are usually 3 main hot courses to choose from. There are also salads and vegetarian options. Students collect packed lunches from the dining hall on days when they are on trips.
College Cafeteria and Bar
During the university holidays, the College Cafeteria and Bar is open from 9.00am to 2.00pm serving coffee, tea, drinks and snacks. It is adjacent to the Library so is a good place to go in the break between lessons.
Common Room
World University Preparation students have access to the Corpus Christi Junior Common Room which is equipped with a wide flat screen television and DVD player.
Accommodation
140 single rooms. Separate male and female accommodation. World University Preparation students are lodged in Newnham House which is one of the post-graduate halls of residence of Corpus Christi. Newnham House is about five minutes’ walk from the college. There is a large garden surrounding the residence. The River Cam is across the road and there are restaurants and pubs situated on this beautiful stretch of the River Cam. Punts (flat bottomed boats) are available for hire here.
Students are able to arrange access to the internet in their bedrooms for a small extra cost.
Laundry
There are coin operated washing machines and dryers at Newnham House. There is also another coin operated laundry facility above the McCrum Theatre in the college.
Shopping
Corpus Christi is in the heart of Cambridge so shops and restaurants are close by. The market is within walking distance as is the shopping mall. There is also a multiplex cinema in the mall.
